Contact Information:

In order to become one of my therapy participants (Missouri only), click to email intakes@responsivellc.com (strongly preferred) or to call (816) 448-8183 (my Psychology Today intake number) to ask for a space on my schedule. All appointments are telehealth. I no longer provide in-person therapy.

Office Address (mailing address only): Jennifer D. Liles LLC Responsive Mental Health Services LLC 136 E Walnut St Ste 102 Independence MO 64050. Fax # 1 816-343-4417.

Other Important Information:

Starting January, 2025, RMHS LLC offers a limited number of short appointment slots each week. I save these for “wait-listed” folk and those who have just been released from inpatient units.

Unlike my regular appointments, the time for these appointments is not flexible. Currently the appointments available are 12:15 am Wednesdays and Fridays, and 12:45 am Wednesdays and Fridays.

You can make up to six of these appointments (1 per week). By then you can move to my regular, more flexible schedule if room opens ups. If room doesn’t open up, you can “re-up” these appointments if I continue to have room on my short appointments list. These spots ensure that people in urgent need of mental health care can get some quickly when possible.

Personal Statement (as used in my Psychology Today Listing):

Decorative doodle featuring an anthropomorphic creature. Text: RMHS LLC Responsive Mental Health Services LLC.

“Jennifer (Jenni) Liles LCSW owns Responsive Mental Health Services LLC (RMHS LLC). I believe that all of us can live fulfilling lives that contain moments of joy in-between and around the difficult times. Therapy allows us to experience ourselves as valuable human beings with something to offer. I have extensive experiencing helping people through trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety, and out the other side. I work from a queer-friendly, disability aware, and neurodivergent perspective with people aged 13 and up.

With your needs in mind, I provide mental health therapy from a human rights perspective. Whether people think of you as ‘deliciously different’ or you’re ‘delightfully normal’, let’s see what we can do together to help you build a life you love. I provide therapy through telehealth only. You’ll need a data or internet-connected phone, tablet, or computer.

I welcome LGBTQ+ people and the polyamorous and kink communities. If you are someone whose trauma or serious and persistent mental illness has caused you to “fail” (no such thing) therapy, I’m willing to give you a chance. Give me a call if you are in a rural area of Missouri and can’t find local support. “

Many people want to know enough about their therapist’s views on the world to feel safe. With this in mind, I describe myself as:

  • White anti-racist actively working on deconstructing supremacy (and sometimes failing).
  • Bi- or pan-sexual, gender non-conforming woman.
  • Parent of adult children.
  • Generation X (Elder variety).
  • non-secular religious perspective, knowledgeable about many faiths.
  • Leftist, progressive or liberal, depending who you ask. NOT an accelerationist.
  • Neurodivergent. Living with chronic pain, significant history of trauma, and mood disorder.
  • Kink and poly friendly, sex positive.
  • Kind in the sense that I’m gentle when I tell you the hard things (and I sound the bullshit button when needed).

What Therapy at RMHS LLC Looks Like:

I offer individual therapy (and occasionally brief family therapy with existing therapy participants.) I do not offer couples therapy. All therapy is conducted online via video and/or audio.

Years ago, before I owned RMHS LLC, a therapy participant told me “I don’t consider it a real session until I’ve laughed, cried, and wanted to throw things at you.” I try to make therapy fun when possible, kind always, and to give you lots of choices along the way.

With your needs in mind, I use an eclectic approach that incorporates liberation-based therapy and elements of DBT, mindfulness, inner child work, trauma informed care, and motivational interviewing among others. I will work with you to improve your experience of your life while acknowledging and helping you overcome systems that are bringing you down.

  • Therapy begins.

Paying for Therapy at RMHS LLC:

I accept many major insurances including Medicare and Missouri Medicaid. These include Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Ambetter, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, among others. Once the Soup & Solidarity Discord is up and running, part of the proceeds will be use to provide grants for co-payments, deductibles, and pro-bono (free) therapy on a first-come, first served basis, starting with existing therapy participants. The Discord will open on May 1, 2025.

RMHS LLC cash fees (the time ranges are set by Federal policy):

  • $95 for an Intake (any length over 16 minutes but usually 45 minutes)
  • $70 for a 30 minute session (16-37 minutes)
  • $95 for a 45 minute (standard) session (38-51 minutes)
  • $120 for a 60 minute session (over 52 minutes)

Insurance co-pays and deductibles and refusals to pay at the insurance’s rate.

I work with my clients when financial struggles hit them. For financial reasons, I can’t accept new pro-bono therapy participants right now. However, for existing therapy participants who have hardships, I will make payment arrangements as needed.

A Note on the World We Live In:

Things are hard right now for most folks in the US. Knowing this, I won’t gaslight you or pretend that healing will be easy. That said, we’ll figure it out together. Drop me an email so we can get started.
