This page collects all of my general website and social media policies for your convenience.

Publishing Policies

I write and produce videos and other content within my areas of expertise. I am an expert in human rights issues, mental health issues, and how they are treated in the United States. Also, I share my many lifelong hyperfixations with you for your education and entertainment. I make an effort to verify information before publishing.

Everything on this website is licensed under Creative Commons CC By-SA 4.0. Either I make the art for this website using Creative Commons or purchased assets, or it is a free to use or paid asset used without alteration. You can find the vast majority of the assets I use on Pixabay or through Canva (including pro level assets). I use copyrighted material occasionally under fair use doctrine. I never knowingly use AI art, AI writing assistance, or AI art assets. If you spot (or think you spot) AI material on my website, please contact me and let me know.

Accessibility Policies:

I have built this website to be as accessible as possible to access. Every image has alt-text, and every video is captioned (except those I’ve had to post a transcription for instead). I use Google’s Page Speed Insights to continue to improve accessibility on the site. If you run into any accessibility issues, please contact me to let me know.

Diversity Policies:

I belong to the disability community (chronic pain and mobility issues), the neurodivergent community (ADHD and autism) and the queer community (bisexual and gender nonconforming). Therefore, I speak on these issues from both education and lived experience. Every day, I am in a lifelong process of deconstructing from all the ‘isms I was raised within. I actively work toward an anti-‘ism mindset, aiming to accomplice vs. ally status.

When writing about a population I am not a member of, I draw from the voices of the people in that population. Generally, I’ll credit my source unless they’re anonymous or I’m unable to trace the information back to its origin. I welcome collaborations with anti-‘ism workers from within other marginalized communities as well as listing and/or boosting their work. Please use the contact form to reach out to me.

Transparency Policies:

I own and am the sole employee of Responsive Mental Health Services (RMHS LLC). I don’t run ads on the site and have no plans to do so. See the privacy policy page for data collection policies.

The site is solely supported by the generosity of those who have found the site useful. Please make a one-time or regular donation if you are able.

I respond to emails within one business week. If the volume of email I receive makes this impossible, I will set up an FAQ for the most frequent questions, and consider other solutions as needed such as hiring staff. Because of the nature of mental health issues, I can’t assist in emergency mental health problems. Please use Find a Hotline , which offers free hotlines for various issues in 130 countries, or call 911 or your local emergency number if outside the United States.

Ethical Policies:

I state my ethical and philosophical perspectives clearly during therapy participant intakes as well as on this site centrally for all my public posts. If my beliefs and practices interfere with the therapeutic relationship, I refer the participant to a new provider.

The NASW Code of Ethics and the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) inform everything I do online. The Code of Ethics helps me to navigate the often conflicting needs of public education and advocacy with individual therapy provision. More broadly, the UN UDHR gives a roadmap for individuals and institutions to navigate the principles underlying interpersonal conflict. My ethics require competency, and my public statements are generally drawn from well researched information from reliable sources.

I cuss like a sailor and I have no tolerance for bigotry. Regarding the ethics of swearing, see research demonstrating that swearing reduces pain. When it comes to bigotry, please consider Popper’s Paradox and its modern re-statement. I base my moral structure, as Rachel Klinger Cain describes, horizontally rather than vertically. I prioritize the well[-being of people, communities, and the planet we share over any authority.

Corrections and Liability Policy:

If I publish an inaccurate statement I will retract the statement both in the original item if possible and in a separate new item. Both of those will be published on this website on the Jenni’s Space blog. Please alert me if you see inaccurate statements of fact. I make every effort to vet organizations I feature here from their public facing information, but cannot guarantee that organizations are who they present themselves to be. Listing in the Mutual Aid or Solidarity Shopping is not an endorsement, just information that might be useful to you.

Policy Summary:

In general, my goal with this policy page is give myself actionable guidelines for a wide variety of situations that I might encounter while publishing online.
